Our Timeline

We are glad you have "clicked on" to learn more about us. It is our prayer that you will join us one Sunday to see more of who we are.

First and foremost we believe that Jesus, the Son of God, is our one and only Lord and Savior, crucified for our sins and physically resurrected from the dead on the third day. We believe that the Bible is the only inspired and inerrant message of God. And that one is saved by the grace of God and the blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that a person must, through faith and obedience, reach out to receive this free gift of salvation asking Jesus for forgiveness of their sins. We believe in baptism by immersion following in the steps and example of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that we are commissioned by God to reach out in love and compassion – sharing the love of Jesus Christ with all men and telling them of His love for them and their need for a Savior. Cornerstone Christian Church is committed to these beliefs and is very involved in missionary efforts in the world as well as our nation and local community.

We meet every Sunday morning on the campus of Dallas Christian College to worship and celebrate what the Lord Jesus means to us.

We invite you to come and learn more about Cornerstone Christian Church and the wonders of having a cherished relationship with Jesus.

May God bless you and help you to know Him.
Ron Key, Pastor

"For where two or three come together in My Name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:20

On September 4, 2005, a small gathering of believers came together in a high school cafeteria to worship our Lord, pray and share communion. The Gathering grew and moved to the Garden Terrace Room at the Double Tree Hotel on Valley View Lane. They had no pastor to lead them and no name for their church, but the Holy Spirit was working mightily during this time and each service was filled with singing and praising God.
Sept 18     Our Children's Sunday School begins.
Sept 25     Ron Key was guest speaker and spoke from his heart.  We elected our first Steering Committee and                     started our Missions Committee.
Oct 9        The Gathering became Cornerstone Christian Church
Oct 30      The congregation received their first pastor - Ron Key
Nov 6        Cornerstone Christian Church moved to Dallas Christian College.  Many families declared the good                    confession and officially joined the new church.  With joy and laughter we had our first

old-fashioned church potluck meal and broke bread together.
Nov 18      Cornerstone Christian Church honored our veterans with a flag retirement ceremony.  A bugler                             from Dallas Christian College played the calls to retire the worn flag and a new one took it's place.
Dec            A double blessing of services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning
Jan            Bible studies, Sunday School, Classes and Small Groups were growing within the new church
Jan 26      Interim by-laws were accepted for the future of the church
April 16    Our first Easter Sunday with breakfast, egg hunt, children's pageant and worship service.
June         The Prison Ministry led services at Palestine, Texas prison
July           Our first mission trip - 23 of our members ministered in Guatemala
Sept          Acceptance of our "Statement of Faith and Governance" for Cornerstone Christian Church
Fall            Our Elders, Deacons, Council, secretary and treasurer are confirmed

These are only a few of the many “firsts” that have come to a “small group” that gathered only a few years ago in a high school cafeteria to worship and praise our Lord. We will now have Elders, Deacons, and a Pastor to shepherd our church as we continue to see God’s will and to bring the Good News of the Gospel to all those we can reach. The dedication and hard work of members, led by God, has brought a new church into being.

May God bless all those who reverently seek Him and may God continue to bless
